CORA is the only agency in San Mateo County solely dedicated to helping those affected by intimate partner abuse. From counseling to emergency housing to legal assistance, our services are designed to provide safety, support, and healing.
Rumana has been involved with CORA for a number of years, working diligently on their fundraising efforts. We were so excited to be part of an effort that raised $112,000 for victims of domestic violence!
Second Harvest’s mission is to end hunger in communities. They connect people at risk for hunger to fresh, healthy, and nutritious foods. They work with local farms and retailers to provide fresh produce and meats to our Farmer’s Markets, mobile pantries, and network of over 100 local partner charities through over 150 programs.
Rumana is volunteering her time at Second Harvest’s Farmer’s Markets, helping to distribute fresh produce to people in need. In additional to activating clients and friends for food drives, she donates food and money to Second Harvest on a regular basis and Advocating for Second Harvest and its mission to end hunger in her community.
San Mateo-Foster City Education Foundation is the fundraising arm that continues its mission to identify unmet needs within the district and close those disparities so all schools in the district excel. They Generate support through family and broader community donations and participation and Build ongoing partnerships with local businesses, corporations, community-based organizations & foundations to fund district-wide programs that reach all of their students.
Rumana regularly volunteers her time and sponsors to help with annual fundraising events, like the Meadow Heights Fall Stampede. She also actively participates in fundraising activities, such as soliciting donations from clients, friends, family, and businesses. This year, Rumana
Rebuilding Together Peninsula is a non-profit organization that provides essential safe and healthy housing-related repair services for vulnerable homeowners and community facilities throughout San Mateo County and northern Santa Clara County.
Rumana serves as a board member and regularly participates in National Rebuilding Days, where volunteers work on up to 35 projects to repair homes in need in a single day! She helps to raise funds for RTP through events and other initiatives and she consistently talks to others about the important work of RTP and encourages them to get involved.
